Project Overview:  

Terminal 1 underwent a comprehensive renovation as part of the Mactan-Cebu International Airport modernization program. The redevelopment modernized domestic passenger facilities, increased capacity, and positioned the airport for future growth.  

Project Context: 

Domestic air travel continues to drive mobility, tourism, and commerce across the Philippine archipelago. By expanding passenger capacity and strengthening one of the country’s busiest aviation hubs outside Metro Manila, the renovation reinforced the success of the Public-Private Partnership model while supporting regional economic development and improved air connectivity. 

Project Scale:  

• Renovation of Mactan-Cebu International Airport Terminal 1 (Domestic Terminal)  
• Part of the ₱17 billion airport modernization program  
• Increased Terminal 1 annual capacity from approximately 8 million to 11 million passengers  
• Expanded the airport’s combined annual capacity to 15.1 million passengers  
• Major renovation completed in 2020
